Playreading Book Club

We will read 6 plays this season. After reading the plays we will meet to discuss them.  We will not only discuss the plot, themes, characters and situations in the script, but also-the playwright, social significance, history of production and commentary/criticism of the show. This season’s play reading focuses on Comedy.

The scripts will be a total of $60. If you do not need scripts ordered-or if you prefer to order your scripts yourself-the cost of the book club will be $30.

Boo Bash

Temple Civic Theatre’s Fall Fest

Temple Civic Theatre will hold its Fall Fest on November 4, 2023 from 10am – 4pm.

The event will feature food trucks, local vendors, live entertainment, a pumpkin patch, face painting, petting zoo, and rummage sale.

Entry is free, but each activity will have a cost associated.

Beehive: The 60’s Musical

BEEHIVE celebrates the powerful female voices of the 1960’s with such timeless hits as “My Boyfriend’s Back,” “Be My Baby,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” and “Me and Bobby McGee.” Told from the perspective of six young women who come of age in this enigmatic decade, BEEHIVE takes us from their first Beehive Dance to the challenges we faced as a nation.

Central Texas New Works Festival

The 2024 Central Texas New Works Festival will present five new plays in staged readings Friday, August 16th and Saturday, August 17th. The festival will feature new plays written by Central Texas playwrights. These playwrights can have lived or are living in Central Texas.

Deadline for submissions is January 15, 2024.
