Beehive: The 60’s Musical
Performances: Postponed until further notice
Beehive is the ultimate celebration of 1960’s female empowerment. Featuring such timeless classics as “My Boyfriend’s Back”, “Be My Baby”, “Son of a Preacher Man”, and “Me and Bobby McGee”, Beehive nostalgically recalls the days of miniskirts, transistor radios and flower power.
Dear valued patrons,
There was no way we could imagine the event of the past two months, but here we are. While these times are not ideal, hopefully we will emerge stronger and better than ever. Here is some important information regarding TCT.
On Pause – We cannot wait until the day we reopen our doors and put on another spectacular show for you. Unfortunately, it is nearly impossible to speculate when that day will be, as Governor Abbott’s early phases of reopening the state do not include our type of venue. In addition, we do not want to resume regular activities until we are sure it is safe for our staff, performers, volunteers, and patrons. With that in mind, the TCT Board of Governors has decided to put the season on “pause.” This means we are suspending upcoming performances indefinitely. Once we know if it is safe to open again, we will adjust our calendar and inform you of our new schedule as soon as possible.
Online Events – In the meantime, keep an eye out for an upcoming streaming event.
Online Fundraising Challenges – Last Saturday, I raised over $1200 by promising to shave half my head on Facebook live. Our technical director, Chaz, raised over $1000 and will be dying his hair and the donors get to choose what the color is. Are you up for the challenge? We challenge you to raise money for TCT by thinking outside the box.
Support Still Needed – We appreciate your continued financial support as our stage remains dark. Any contribution is appreciated as we work on preparing for a new season. Should you be so moved to send us a gift, please visit our donation page.
Please stay healthy and safe. We miss you and are eager to see you again. Our brightly colored stage awaits your return.
To our valued patrons and volunteers:
In the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak, decisions are having to be made and adjusted on a day-to-day basis. The Bell County Public Health District recommended on Monday that we follow the CDC recommendation that there be no gatherings of more than 50 people for the next eight weeks. Keeping the health of our patrons, volunteers, and staff in mind, the Board of Governors has decided to postpone the opening of Beehive until further notice.
Guys and Dolls is also postponed until further notice.
The Box Office will remain open during regular hours, but please choose phone or email over an in person visit if possible.
Again, new information and guidance is coming in rapidly, so please kindly understand that we may need to readjust as needed. We will make sure to keep you up to date on all decisions as they are made.
We truly appreciate your understanding and flexibility during this time of uncertainty.
Our 2019-20 Season opens with the smash hit musical, Mamma Mia! This high energy production is a great opening to a season that will also feature Barefoot in the Park, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Beehive: the 60’s Musical, Ken Ludwig’s Leading Ladies and Guys and Dolls.
Our new season is a direct result of the feedback we received from you! The play reading committee worked hard to select shows that offered classic favorites and highly popular productions that would appeal to theatre lovers of all ages. We exist because of the longstanding support we receive from the residents of Temple and the communities of central Texas and we can never say, “Thank You,” enough.
We are so proud of the unique experience our thrust stage provides, the comfort our inviting space brings to audiences and the impact we work to provide on improving the quality of life for so many. As always, we hope you will consider joining us as a member for the coming season and again, welcome you to the Temple Civic Theatre.
