The 2024 Central Texas New Works Festival will present seven new plays in staged readings.

Temple Civic Theatre’s Fall Fest

Temple Civic Theatre will hold its Fall Fest on October 19, 2024 from 10am – 4pm.

The event will feature food trucks, local vendors, live entertainment, a pumpkin patch, face painting, petting zoo, and rummage sale.

Entry is free, but each activity will have a cost associated.

Beehive: The 60’s Musical

BEEHIVE celebrates the powerful female voices of the 1960’s with such timeless hits as “My Boyfriend’s Back,” “Be My Baby,” “Son of a Preacher Man,” and “Me and Bobby McGee.” Told from the perspective of six young women who come of age in this enigmatic decade, BEEHIVE takes us from their first Beehive Dance to the challenges we faced as a nation.

The Best Christmas Tree Contest Ever!

Temple Civic Theatre’s Annual The Best Christmas Tree Contest Ever will be held again this year. Each year TCT invites local nonprofits to decorate a tree. Our wonderful patrons vote for their favorite tree ($1 per vote). The winning tree’s organization receives all the proceeds from voting. Past winners include Tiny Hooves Animal Rescue and Feed My Sheep.

This year’s nonprofits include Feed My Sheep, McLane’s Children’s Hospital, Temple Children’s Museum, The Czech Heritage Museum, The Contemporaries, TCT Guild, and TransQueen Organization.

Temple Civic Theatre’s Food and Toy Drive

Help Temple Civic Theatre bring joy to children, animals, and needy families during the holiday season. We will be collecting non-perishable food items, unwrapped/new toys, and pet food/toys.
Donations will be accepted November 18 through December 20, 2024.
Donations may be dropped off at the theatre’s lobby during normal business hours. Or bring your donations with you when you attend Beehive and Home for the Holidays!

Temple Civic Theatre will hold its Spring Fest on April 12, 2025 from 10am – 4pm.

The event will feature food trucks, local vendors, live entertainment, face painting, petting zoo, and photo ops with the Easter Bunny.

Playreading Book Club

We will read 6 plays this season. After reading the plays we will meet to discuss them.  We will not only discuss the plot, themes, characters and situations in the script, but also-the playwright, social significance, history of production and commentary/criticism of the show. This season’s play reading focuses on Comedy.
